J & G MEAKIN BLUE NORDIC MILK JUG

Superb example of the 1960’s British made pottery J & G Meakin Blue Nordic Milk Jug now a vintage item. These such items will never be made again.
First seen in 1964 this design in the Classic shape from J & G Meakin, possibly from their new premises in Hanley. In the J & G history there is little written about Blue Nordic, but it is one of those designs that has stood the test of time.
The milk jug is in excellent condition, clear bright white porcelain with the blue free style floral pattern, and obviously free from chips and cracks. It has had very little use.
The milk jug stands approx. 4”/10cm to the side, from handle to tip of spout it is approx. 4.50”/11cm. At its ‘fattest’ part it is approx. 4”/10cm across, the base diameter is approx. 2.50”/6cm. It has a capacity of approx. 200ml. slightly under a half pint.
The backstamp is very clear with the Classic White signature.
